Hernandez signs to play with TMU

Alex Hernandez, a right-handed pitcher from Fresno City College and Visalia, California, signed with The Master's University baseball team on Monday.

Hernandez, who was injured in the 2026 season, appeared in six games for Fresno City in 2025 and notched a 2.35 ERA. He earned 11 strikeouts across 7.2 innings of work and picked up one save as well.

"Alex is a very talented pitcher who had a lot of success prior to his injury," TMU Head Coach Monte Brooks said. "We're very excited to add him to the roster and bring him to TMU."

Hernandez showcased great swing-and-miss stuff during that 2025 season, including an outing against Chabot in which he went three innings and had six strikeouts.

"I chose TMU because when I look past baseball, TMU sets me up in my future to serve my Lord and Savior now and forevermore." Hernandez said. 

Hernandez was also an all-region second team selection in high school, competing for Redwood High School, with a fastball that topped out at 90 miles per hour. 

"On my visit, everyone was so hospitable and the campus was so beautiful," Hernandez said. "All Glory to the Lord for this opportunity."
