Jacob Janho carded an 8-under 64 in the final round to come from four strokes back and win the TMU Danish Classic, leading The Master's University men's golf team to a 42-stroke victory at Alisal Ranch Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday in Solvang, Calif.
Janho's 8-under was the second-best individual round in TMU history while TMU's total team score was also the second-best in school history.
The Mustangs finished at 24-under 552 (277-275), well ahead of second-place La Verne at 18-over. TMU's B team placed third at 20-over, while the C team finished sixth in the seven-team field.
Janho opened with a 3-under 69 and sat sixth after the first round before posting the low round of the tournament on Tuesday. He finished at 11-under 133 for his first win of the season, one week after tying for third at the OUAZ Fall Invite.
Zeke Prociw set the early pace with a 7-under 65 in the opening round and held the 36-hole lead before a 3-under 69 on Tuesday left him one shot back in second at 10-under 134. Charles Pollock, competing for the B team, rounded out a Mustang sweep of the top three at 5-under 139 (68-71).
Wes Opliger finished sixth at 3-under 141 (68-73). Isaiah Reddicopp placed 14th at 4-over 148 (75-73), and Titus Johnson rebounded from an opening 80 with a 3-under 69 in the final round to tie for 15th at 149.
Carson Coker led the C team with a 10th-place finish at 2-over 146 (74-72), and Brooks Opliger tied for 11th at 3-over 147 (76-71) for the B team.
The win is TMU's second straight team title to open the fall season after claiming the OUAZ Fall Invite last week. They will compete next at the Battle at Bremerton on Oct. 26-27, hosted by OUAZ in Seattle, Wash.Â
