Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Master's offense again struggled, losing both ends of a doubleheader and getting swept by the Hope International Royals on Saturday in Fullerton, Calif.

Game 1

Nolan Inouye slammed a pinch-hit, ninth-inning home run, his first of the season, but it was not enough to overcome a pair of 3-run innings as the Mustangs lost game one 6-2.

The Mustangs got a solid 7.2 innings from starter Carson Knapp, but three errors by TMU's defense led to four of the six runs scored by HIU. Knapp gave up two earned runs on six hits and struck out seven with no walks.

Austin Young's ground out to second scored Cason Brownell in the first inning to put TMU up 1-0.

But in the third, the Royals scored three off a home run and a double that scored an unearned run, followed by a wild pitch, to put Hope up 3-1.

Then in the eighth, a 2-run single was followed by an RBI double, scoring three unearned runs, to put the Royals up 6-1. Inouye then hit his bomb in the ninth to make it a 6-2 Hope International win.

Brownell, Young and Ryan Mathiesen each finished with two hits.

Game 2

The Master's could only muster a pair of singles as the Royals completed the sweep with a 4-0 win in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.

The Mustangs' first nine batters of the game all struck out before Cason Brownell led off the fourth with a single. TMU finished the seven-inning game having struck out 13 times.

J.T Friesen got the start on the bump, going 5.0 innings and giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits and a strikeout. Ryan Mathiesen pitched 1.0 inning and collected a pair of strikeouts.

Hope scored two in the first, both earned, but the run scored in the fourth and another in the fifth were both unearned. The Mustangs committed two errors in those innings.

The Master's will be back in Lou Herwaldt Stadium on Friday at 2 p.m. when they face the Vanguard Lions. The two teams will then go to Costa Mesa, Calif. on Saturday for a doubleheader.
