It was a pair of second-place finishes for The Master's University track and field teams as they competed in the GSAC Championships this weekend in Aliso Viejo, Calif.

Both the men's and women's teams placed second to Arizona Christian, as the Mustang men totaled 232 points and the women scored 164. TMU had multiple athletes take home awards including Dominic Grinceri for Field Athlete of the Meet, Jack Anderson winning Track Athlete of the Meet, and Hunter Roy earning Overall Athlete of the Meet.

Anderson got the meet started for the Mustangs with a win in the 1500m final. Despite a slow early pace, Anderson closed in a 56-second final 400m to take the win. He also doubled back in the 5000m and won handily in 14:51.

Hunter Roy had a busy weekend, as he competed in several events, including the 400m, 400m hurdles, 800m, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay, and the 3000m steeplechase. He ran a personal best with a sub-50 second 400m in the 400m final.  The Mustang junior ran 11 races over the 2-day meet to score 32.5 points.

The women's 4x100m relay ran a school-record 50.06 to place second. Suzie Johnson won the 1500m and the 800m in her final GSAC meet, and she also anchored the 4x400m relay to another second-place finish.

Some other highlight performances included Dominic Grinceri, who threw multiple personal records in his second-place showing in the shot put. Presleigh Adam had the fastest time in the women's 400m for crucial Lady Mustang win.

The men's 4x400m closed out the meet with a third-place finish thanks to a 50.5-second 400m leg from senior Jack Warmack in his last race as a Mustang.

TMU will take several athletes to NAIA Nationals in Asheville, North Carolina on the campus of UNC Asheville in a few weeks.
