No. 5 TMU Beach Volleyball continued its strong start to the season on Friday morning with a 4-1 Golden State Athletic Conference victory over (RV) Life Pacific University in San Dimas.

"Today's win marked our first 4-1 victory this year," Master's Head Coach
Annett Davis said, after her team's previous four wins came via 3-2 margins. "We are grateful God gave us such a beautiful day to play."

CJ Catabona won her sixth-straight match to start the season, teaming up with
Gwen Garate to defeat their opponents at number five (21-17, 21-13).

"In the 5's spot,
Gwen Garate played one of her best matches ever coming up from the 6's to help
CJ Catabona capture the first win of the day," Davis said.

Chloe Johnson and
Kassidy Wilson won their matchup at number one (21-13, 21-16).

"Our 1's played a solid match with
Kassidy Wilson contributing with some strong line kills," Davis said.

Kasie Spencer and
Evi Yates (21-12, 21-10) and
Tara Long and
Kaylie Phelps (21-18, 21-14) also won their matches in straight sets at number two and three respectively.

Davis highlighted the play of
Ellie Unruh and
Ellie Niehus, who played an exhibition match that they won.

"Even though the match of the Ellie's was an exhibition, I am very proud of them for playing well and winning that also," Davis said. "They've been steadily improving all season."

Master's (5-1 overall) is set to take on two NCAA Division I teams on Saturday in Northridge – University of Oregon at 1 p.m. and CSUN at 3 p.m.
