The Master's University women's soccer team has signed a talented, technical midfielder to bolster its 2018 recruiting class.

With the season's first game, and a grueling four-game Florida swing, less than a month away, the Mustangs will go into battle with the help of freshman Katrina Carrasco from Patriot High School in Jurupa Valley, Calif., near Riverside.

Carrasco is the younger sister of Master's senior Sierra Carrasco, who appeared in eight games last season for TMU.

"We are excited to have Katrina with us this year," said Master's coach Curtis Lewis. "She is a technical player who likes being on the ball and should have a good rhythm for us knocking it around the field. I know she is excited to play with Sierra, and it will be fun to watch them interact and encourage one another in the Lord."

Katrina's reason for choosing Master's?

"To meet people that have similar interests and to bond with the soccer team," she said.

Carrasco joins a Mustang squad that went 15-6-1 last year, finishing third place in the Golden State Athletic Conference and advancing to the final 16 in the NAIA national tournament.
