Trent Rickard scored four goals in his return to the lineup as TMU beat College of Idaho 7-1 on Tuesday in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Rickard, who had been missing for the first two games of the season due to injury, had two first-half goals and also knocked in two scores after the break.

His first goal came off a beautiful pass from Jo Yokota and Rickard was able to knock it in and give TMU the early lead in the 6th minute.

He added another score just eight minutes later, this one off the assist of Adiel Kaduya to expand Master's lead up to 2-0. 

The Mustangs' defense was able to hold the Yotes scoreless the rest of the half, as College of Idaho attempted no shots on goal in the first half. 

"Great day from Trent, we're excited to get him back," TMU Head Coach Jim Rickard said. "It's very rare where you get a game like this where you take total control early."

TMU continued to apply pressure, as Trent Rickard scored his third goal just minutes after halftime from Andrew Sorto. Master's then scored two goals in the span of a minute, with Zach Bates' first goal of the year and Rickard's fourth and final goal of the game.

COI got on the board with a score in the 79th minute, but TMU netted two more goals, one from Hunter Phelps and one from Jaime Dominguez to close out the night. 

"I'm very pleased with this outing," Coach Rickard said. "We've got a tough schedule ahead, so getting this win was big."

TMU had 20 shots, with 13 on goal, compared to just eight shots for the Yotes. Trent Rickard scored on all four of his shots, while MK Oredi had two assists on the night. Franco Barba got the start in the second half and picked up three saves.

TMU will head out on a trip to Oregon, where they will play Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
