In the third game of the Hope Summer Slam tournament, The Master's University women's volleyball team lost to The College of Idaho in four sets on Saturday in Fullerton, Calif. 

TMU grabbed the early lead, with a win in the first set, but the NAIA No. 18 Yotes stormed back with three set wins in a row to take the victory.

In the early goings, it was a back-and-forth affair with the teams consistently trading 4-0 runs. One of those runs by the Lady Mustangs, which included a kill from Macy Gehbards and a block from Macy and her sister Camdyn, put them up 24-19, and a kill from Isabella Amet got TMU on the board early. 

COI got a strong start to the second set, moving their lead up to 12-5. The Yotes never gave up that early lead, despite a 6-2 run from TMU to narrow the gap down to five points. COI was able to even the score back up at one a piece.

The Yotes kept applying the pressure to TMU early in sets, as they opened up a 11-5 lead in the third set. Master's continued to rally, bringing the lead down to two at 18-16, thanks to another kill from Amet. But a 5-1 College of Idaho run at the end of the set put them on the doorstep, with the score at 24-17. TMU scored three points in a row, but the Yotes were able to finish off the third frame with a win. 

The final set had the two teams once again trading runs, as COI used a 4-0 spurt to take a 12-7 lead. Then a 8-2 run had the Yotes with a eight-point lead at 20-12 late in the game. A service ace from COI gave them the set and match win.

Chloe Grever and Amet tied for the team-high with 12 kills each. Camdyn Gebhards had seven kills and five blocks.

TMU will be back in action at 3:00 p.m. to face Simpson in the final game of the Hope Summer Slam.
