Charis Hughes, a strong forward from Bennington, Neb., has signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at The Master's University.

During her senior season at Concordia High School in Omaha, Hughes averaged 12.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game.

"Charis brings great energy as a forward and is ready to compete right away," said TMU Head Coach Fonda Wilson. "She will really push the other forwards here, and we're excited to have her. She's a great addition to our basketball family, and we're excited to welcome both her and her parents."

A team captain for the past three seasons, Hughes was a 3-time 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Conference Tournament the last three years, Honorable Mention All-State the last two years, and All-Area for two years.

"I wanted to further my faith on a deeper level and be around like-minded people," Hughes said on her decision to sign with Master's. "Especially in my athletics journey, I know how important having a perspective of faith is in the sport. So being able to continue that I feel will honor the Lord with the talents He has given me."
