Angie Martinez, a power forward out of Santa Ana, Calif., signed to play with The Master's University in the fall on Tuesday.
Martinez, a 5'10 post from Pacifica Christian High School, was a 3-time All-San Joaquin League selection and made the All-Tournament team at the Mariners Mayhem Tournament in Garden Grove, Calif.
"Angie Martinez embodies everything we value in our program—character, commitment, and a team-first mentality," TMU Head Coach Fonda Wilson. "We are excited for her to be part of what we're building."
In her senior season, she averaged seven points per game, eight rebounds, three blocks and four steals. Martinez also is quite versatile, being able to slide over to play point guard or small forward.
"I chose The Master's University because it's bigger than basketball. There the people want you to grow in faith and as a person," Martinez said. "They care more about you and your walk with the Lord, as well as teach truth and how to incorporate that in the basketball game."
