The Master's University track and field teams hit multiple qualifying standards at two meets on Friday and Saturday, including the UCLA Bob Larson Distance Classic and the Westmont Classic.

At UCLA on Friday, the distance crew notched several personal bests and standards, starting with the 1500m. Jack Anderson, in his first meet back since placing second in the 3000m at NAIA Indoor Nationals, hit a massive personal best to run 3:47, an NAIA A Standard. His time was less than one second off the school record of John Gilbertson from 2013 and is the second-fastest time in school history. It also currently the fastest mark in the NAIA.

Hunter Roy also competed in the 1500m, dipping under his previous personal record with a 3:53 effort. He also returned in the 3000m steeplechase just an hour later to run 9:55.

In the men's 10000m, Emmanuel De Leon knocked 31 seconds off his personal best to run 30:39 and hit NAIA B Standard. With Anderson leading the way as a pacer, De Leon finished first and secured his spot to his sixth NAIA Nationals. Anderson also finished the race, grabbing B standard as well.

For the women, Suzie Johnson ran a 4:32 over the 1500m against a loaded field to snag an NAIA B Standard. She also returned the next day to run in 4x800m relay at the Westmont Classic. In the 3000m steeplechase, Brooke Cregan was only one second off qualifying for Nationals, with her time of 11:19.

On Saturday at Westmont, TMU had 11 total personal bests from a majority of field athletes and sprinters. Tommy Patton and Dominic Grinceri both threw personal bests in the hammer, while Josh Watkins notched the second-best high jump in TMU history in his first meet of his collegiate career at 1.95m.

Kylin DeVries also slotted into to second place all-time with her high jump of 1.55m. Sidney Clanton threw the fifth-farthest discus throw in TMU history at 14.95m.

To end the meet, the long-standing men's 4x400m relay record fell, as the squad of Colin Loveland, Jack Warmack, Elijah Lovett and Hunter Roy ran 3:21.78 to take the overall win by less than a second.

The Mustangs will compete next at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on April 11.
