The Master's University added more NAIA Indoor Nationals qualifiers at the SOKA Indoor Qualifier on Saturday in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
The men's distance medley relay squad of Hunter Roy, Elijah Lovett, Colin Loveland and Jack Anderson got the day started with a 10:01 and NAIA A standard mark. This automatically qualifies them for nationals and is the third-fastest time in school history.
This team is the sixth-fastest in the NAIA currently and was anchored by Anderson, who also ran 4:11 in the mile, which was an NAIA B Standard and the second-fastest time in school history. Anderson also ranks first in the nation in the 5000m from his mark back in December.
Other key men's teams performances included Dominic Grinceri throwing a personal best in the shot put (13.83m) for the third-best mark in TMU history. TMU had multiple personal bests in the 5000m including Timothy Anderson, which was almost a 40-second personal best (14:57), and Bauer Hollman, who notched almost a 30-second best at 15:02.
Hunter Roy finished first in 49.81, which was the second-best time in school history and Eli Duhm ran the third-fastest time by a Mustang in 10.71 over the 60 hurdles.
For the women,
Suzie Johnson had a number of strong performances, including winning the 3000m in 10:08, which was a personal best. She also ran NAIA B Standard in the 1000m in 2:56. Johnson has already qualified for nationals in the 800m and as a member of the distance medley relay.
