The Master's beach volleyball team, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, opened the 2026 season with a pair of wins Friday at the TMU Beach Volleyball Courts.
"We played two solid matches," said TMU Head Coach
Annett Davis. "This year we have a lot of depth and if we have a good day we can battle against anyone. I am very happy with our start."
The first match of the day saw the Sandy Stangs knock off No. 2 Corban University (OR) Warriors 3-2.
TMU got wins from the 2s pair of Bella Rodriguez and
Ashlan Van Groningen, the 3s of
Ashlyn Unruh and
Addy Brock, and the 4s of
Krista Brady and
Arianna DeRaffaele.
The 5s pair of
Kayla Goodwin and
Jacklyn Gulielmana took their match to a third set but fell short.
In the second match of the day, The Master's took on NCAA Division II Cal State-LA, defeating the Golden Eagles in five sets.
The 2s, 3s and 4s earned their second wins of the day, with TMU's 1s pair of
Emma Winter and
Zoe Yates getting their first win of the year as well as the 5s pair of Goodwin/Gulielmana.
The Master's will once again take on No. 2 Corban on Saturday at noon at the TMU Beach Volleyball Courts. Before that match, the Warriors will take on Hope International in a match that starts at 10 a.m.
