Junior Katherine Dyer of The Master's University women's swimming team has been named the NAIA Women's Swimmer & Diver of the Week. She earned the honor after winning four individual events at the Rodionoff Invite in Malibu on Oct. 9–10.
Dyer won the following individual events:
- 200 IM: 2:04.61, a season best by more than four seconds
- 200 free: 1:51.36, a season best
- 200 breast: 2:19.99
- 100 free: 51.33
She also helped TMU win three relays. She split 24.06 on the 200 free relay, 51.04 on the 400 free relay and 1:05.69 on the breaststroke leg of the 400 medley relay.
The weekend puts Dyer at the top of the NAIA rankings again. Swimcloud ranks her as the No. 1 swimmer in the NAIA, the GSAC and the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference for the 2026-27 season.
The award is Dyer's second national honor from the NAIA. As a freshman she was named the NAIA Women's Swimmer of the Month in December 2024, after setting national records in the 200 and 400 IM at the La Verne Winter Invitational.
Dyer and the Mustangs return to the pool Friday, Oct. 16, at the Slug Shootout.
