TMU keeps undefeated streak alive with Traylor's late score

Maddy Traylor scored in the 85th minute as The Master's University women's soccer team won its third straight 1-0 match, beating Ottawa University Arizona on Thursday night at Spirit Field.

The win moves the Lady Mustangs to 10-1-2 overall and 8-0-1 in GSAC play. All 10 of TMU's wins this season have been shutouts. The Lady Mustangs are 11-0-1 since their season-opening loss to College of Idaho on Aug. 27.

TMU controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting OUAZ 15-3 and putting seven shots on goal to the Spirit's two. The Lady Mustangs also held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

OUAZ keeper Eerika Erjansalo kept the game scoreless for most of the night. She turned away Traylor in the sixth minute, Breanna Fajardo in the 14th and Siennah Nelson in the 24th to send the match to halftime at 0-0.

TMU turned up the pressure after the break, firing 11 second-half shots while allowing just one. Traylor tested Erjansalo twice more in the opening five minutes of the half and again in the 69th minute.

The breakthrough finally came at 84:26. Two minutes after a Taya Pickup corner kick, Traylor found the back of the net for her team-leading 16th goal of the season. She finished with 10 shots, five on target.

Katie Snow went the full 90 minutes in goal for TMU, making two saves to earn the clean sheet. Both of her saves came in the first half, as the Mustang back line of Bryanna Elias, Taya Pickup and Mia Thompson held OUAZ without a shot on goal after the break.

TMU will play next on the road against BenU on Saturday.
