The Master's beach volleyball team traveled to Bakersfield, Calif. Saturday, losing a pair of non-conference matches to NCAA Division I CSU Bakersfield and NCAA Division II Concordia University Irvine.
In the morning match, the Sandy Stangs (9-3, 6-1) lost to the host Roadrunners 1-4, with the pair of
Violet Avila and
Grace Colburn getting the lone win.
In the afternoon match against CUI, The Master's lost 0-5.
TMU, ranked No. 3 in the most recent NAIA Top 10 poll, was dealing with sickness as a couple of players were out, forcing Head Coach
Annett Davis to shuffle her lineup.

Ellie Unruh for the 5s.
The Master's will return to GSAC play on Thursday when they take on No. 4 Arizona Christian at 10 a.m. followed by RV Benedictine Mesa at noon. Both matches, as well as two more on Friday, will be held at Huntington Beach, Calif.
