Breanna Fajardo scored two goals and added two assists as The Master's women's soccer team got a big road win with a 5-1 victory over Arizona Christian Wednesday in Glendale, Ariz.
The Mustangs (5-2, 2-1), which is now receiving votes on the NAIA Top 25 poll released Wednesday, scored two in the first half and three in the second to get the win.
"Big win on the road for the girls earning three points that are very important as the team is looking to get in the top four spots to get into the end-of-the-season conference tournament," said Head Coach Esteban Chavez.
Both teams took the same number of shots (16) and had the same number of shots on goal (nine). But
Savannah Kuhlberg came up big in goal with eight saves.
After giving up a quick goal just 2:10 into the game, TMU answered in the 14th minute when Fajardo got her first goal unassisted.
Then, with just 37 seconds remaining in the half,
Kate Merical found the back of the net off a Fajardo pass to give The Master's a 2-1 halftime lead.
Just 4:15 into the second half, Harmny Rohde scored her third goal of the season, again off a Fajardo assist, to increase the Mustangs lead to 3-1.
Sinclair Francescon got her third goal of the year 14 minutes later before Fajardo finished off her brace, from an assist by
Kegan Brunnemann to give the Mustangs the 5-1 win.
The Master's will next travel to Surprise, Ariz. to face No. 22 OUAZ. Kickoff is scheduled foe 8 a.m.
