Box Score The Master's women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat No. 22 OUAZ 2-1 Friday morning in Surprise, Ariz.
The Lady Mustangs (6-2, 3-1) got a goal in the first half from Freshman
Sasha Redshaw, off an assist from another Freshman Zaria Echemendaria, and the game-winner from Freshman
Breanna Fajardo to come away with the win.
"Team got off to a fast start with plenty of shots, ball possession, an early goal and a high tempo on transitional moments from offense to defense and vice versa," said Head Coach Esteban Chavez. "We struggled  to capitalize on most opportunities but were able to convert enough to come away with the win."
TMU, which received votes in the most recent NAIA Top 25 poll, came out strong to start the game. The team recorded eight shots, had two corners and scored their first goal in the 13th minute before the Spirit was able to even get a shot off.
The Mustangs finished with 30 shots, 14 of which were on goal, compared to OUAZ's eight total shots.
For  Fajardo, she now has five goals and five assists in the first eight games of her collegiate career. Her goal Friday gives her three in the 2-game Arizona road trip this week.
Redshaw picked up her second career goal, while Echmendia got her first career assist.
The Master's will return home on Thursday to take on the Redhawks of Benedictine Mesa. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
