Box Score The Master's men's basketball team struggled late, losing to the OUAZ Spirit 84-79 Thursday night in Surprise, Ariz.
A game that was tied 41-41 at the half and 53-53 with 14 minutes to play got away from the Mustangs (13-4, 2-1 GSAC) as OUAZ went on a 23-11 run to go up by 12 with 3:25 to play.
"Way too many turnovers, missed layups and not elite enough defensively," said TMU Head Coach Kelvin Starr. "You can't give up 50 percent shooting and expect to win games. We've just got to keep getting better."
TMU gave up 50% shooting to the Spirit both overall from the field and from behind the 3-point line (9 of 18). Offensively, The Master's shot 45% from the field, 43% from long range, but also committed 15 turnovers that led to a 23-4 difference in points off turnovers that favored OUAZ.
And while the Mustangs won the rebound battle 37-28, including a 12-5 offensive rebounding advantage that resulted in 17 second-chance points, it was the turnovers that made the difference on the scoreboard.

Kaleb Lowery had another double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while
Ty Harper finished with 12 points.
