The Master's beach volleyball team had a tough day on a windy Saturday, losing against two of the best teams in the country on the sand at Huntington Beach, Calif.
The Sandy Stangs first took on No. 2-ranked Vanguard, losing 5-0. Only the 2s team of
Kassidy Wilson and
Violet Avila, and the 5s team of
Isabela Rodriguez and
Ellie Unruh, were able to win a set against the Lions.
Then, in the afternoon match, TMU took on No. 6 OUAZ, dropping that match 4-1. Rodriguez and Unruh won their match in three sets for The Master's only win of the day.Â
"We played two of the best teams in the country today," said Head Coach
Annett Davis. "They were on, we were not.Â
We didn't play our best matches today. Â But we are just as thankful for the wins as we are the losses. God grows us in both. We have some things to fine tune."
The Master's will return to their home courts this Wednesday when they take on the CSUN Matadors at 1 p.m.
