Box Score The Master's men's volleyball team came away with a critical road match Saturday, defeating No. 6 Menlo in four sets in Atherton, Calif.
The Mustangs (13-4, 5-3 GSAC) won 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19. TMU hit .394, and while the Oaks had more kills (53-50), The Master's out-blocked Menlo 12-6.
"Today was one of the best defensive matches we have had with both our blocking and our digging," said TMU Head Coach
Jared Goldberg. "
Nolan Flexen had a great offensive day and kept pressure on Menlo all day."
Flexen finished the match with 27 kills. Both
Isaac Seltzer and
Braden Van Groningen added 11 kills each.
Matthew Hamm had 47 assists.
Defensively, the Mustangs were led by
Will Avera with six blocks followed by
Brett Norkus' five. Both Flexen and Van Groningen added three blocks each.
The Master's will closeout the regular season next weekend as they host No. 4 OUAZ Friday night and RV Arizona Christian on Saturday.
"We are looking forward to next weekend and wrapping up the regular season," Goldberg said.
