Another double-brace win for TMU

For the second game in a row, two braces by two different players lead to another TMU win.

Alexandria Dunn and Cynthia Ramos each scored two goals as The Master's women's soccer team defeated the visiting Jessup University Warriors 6-0 Thursday on Reese Field.

The Lady Mustangs (7-2-1, 2-0 GSAC) have won consecutive GSAC matches by the identical 6-0 score.

TMU dominated the action, out shooting the Warriors 25-4 for their fifth shutout of the season.

"Solid win with plenty of goals and zero goals conceded," said TMU Head Coach Esteban Chavez. "Jessup applied lots of pressure in the first 20 to 25 minutes and the girls responded and were able to manage it as best as possible by staying composed."

Kylie Ibach and Hannah Burke also scored for The Master's, with Jordyn Bingaman picking up two assists. Addyson Wolf and Emma Hopkins each collected an assist as well.

The Lady Mustangs jumped on the board quickly to take control of the game in the seventh minute. Wolf drove a deep ball into the box where it found Dunn's right foot to get the scoring started. Less than three-and-a-half minutes later it was Bingaman with the cross that was headed in by Ibach to make it 2-0. Despite taking that lead into the locker room, Coach Chavez knew the team could play better.

"We had a shaky first half as we struggled on both ends of the field, couldn't connect past our own third of the field, and defensively struggled as a unit," he said.

A little over six minutes into the second half, it was Burke scoring her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Hopkins. Dunn would get her second goal of the game two minutes later, with Ramos scoring in the 58thand 74th minutes.

"We improved in the second half as we had much more success in keeping possession of the ball with a purpose," Chavez said. "And defensively, we took away their build high up the field."

Ramos and Francescon each had six shots, with Burke firing off five and Dunn shooting three. Ibach, Hopkins, Wolf and Holly McRitchie each got a shot off as well.

The Master's will be back on the Reese Field pitch on Saturday when they host the Menlo Oaks. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
