It took 90 minutes with The Master's women's soccer team dominating the action, but in the end they ended where they started, a 0-0 tie with Menlo Saturday on Reese Field.
The Lady Mustangs (7-2-2) took 18 shots compared to the Oaks' four, with eight of those 18 on goal. But TMU just could not find the back of the net.
"Hard fought game today against Menlo and dealing with the heat," said Head Coach Esteban Chavez, regarding the near 100-degree temperatures. "We created more than enough scoring opportunities but failed to convert. I am happy, though, with how well we dealt defensively with Menlo's speed through the match."
Both
Hannah Burke and
Cynthia Ramos took four shots each, with
Alexandria Dunn and
Sinclair Francescon firing off three.
Autumn Jensen collected three saves in her third shutout in a row and fifth of the season.
Joryn Bingaman went out with an injury in the first half and sat out the rest of the match. She will be evaluated further in the next couple days.
The Master's will be off for a week before traveling to Costa Mesa, Calif to face the Vanguard Lions. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
