Before the match it was celebrating the seniors.
After the match it was celebrating a win as The Master's women's volleyball team closed out their regular season with a three-set win (25-23, 25-12, 25-21) over the visiting Menlo Oaks Saturday in The MacArthur Center.
And for the second match in a row it was the block that made the party special. The Lady Mustangs (17-11, 7-7 GSAC) finished with nine blocks, and
McKenna Brady had a hand on every one.
"When you get your hands on a lot of blocks, that changes the other team's offense," said Head Coach Annett Davis. "Collectively, our senior group played amazing. Hitting, passing, defensively… everything they needed to do they did."
Breanna Brooks,
Madeline Cooke,
Cora Machado,
Brooke Scott andÂ
Faith Tarver were the five seniors playing their final game for The Master's in The MacArthur Center.
TMU hit .177 and held the Oaks to just .018. The Master's had more kills (36-25), more aces (7-2) and more blocks (9-4), controlling every facet of the game.
Ruby Duncan had a game-high 12 kills and three aces, followed by Tarver with eight kills and Machado with seven.
Timberlie Miller had 33 assists and two aces, whileÂ
Sierra Hale led the back row with 20 digs.
The race for ace supremacy among the Lady Mustangs just got tighter. Both Duncan and Miller each have 64 on the season, a new program record.
Next for The Master's women's volleyball program is the post-season, starting with the quarterfinals of the GSAC Championship Tournament this Thursday on the campus of Life Pacific University in San Dimas, Calif. TMU will be the No. 4 seed and face the Jessup Warriors, a team the Lady Mustangs defeated in straight sets this past Friday.

"Coming to the end of the season, that's when you want to peak," said Davis. "And that's what we are seeing."
