Against some elite NCAA Division I and II competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, TMU Track & Field showcased some impressive athletes of its own.

Caleb Pouliot (men's pole vault – 5.05 meters) and Hannah Fredericks (women's 5000 meters – 16:32.66) both set new program records, with Pouliot recording the top mark in the NAIA this season.

Pouliot broke his own TMU record to place second in his section, while Fredericks finished 16th as one of only two NAIA athletes out of 29 in her event.

"God has blessed us with some of the highest-performing freshman athletes in the nation," Master's Head Coach Zach Schroeder said.
Sophomore Zach Garey ran a national provisional-qualifying time of 3:55.50 in the men's 1500 meters.

On Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invite, hosted by Azusa Pacific University, Brint Laubach also ran a 'B' standard time but in the 5,000 meters (14:43.00), setting a new lifetime best. He finished 19th out of 100 runners in his section.

"Our pursuit this weekend was to reflect on our Lord Jesus' death on the cross and worship Him through sport," Schroeder said. "That is exactly what our athletes did. I couldn't be more blessed by the pursuit of the Lord this team puts on display."

Master's will compete next at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championships April 28-29 in Santa Barbara on the Westmont College Track.
