TMU Track & Field continued its impressive start to the 2022 outdoor season on Saturday at the PLNU Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational in San Diego.

"Saturday was another great meet and it is such a blessing to work with a group that wants to honor the Lord through athletics," Master's Head Coach
Zach Schroeder said. "Our team shined bright."

Hannah Fredericks won the women's 1500 meters (4:34.84), with teammate
Ellen Palmgren close behind in third place (4:38.80). Palmgren also placed third in the 800 meters (2:17.73), with Fredericks less than a second behind in fifth (2:18.37).

Anthony Ghiorso also won a race, placing first in the men's 800 meters (1:54.03). Master's runners won all men's 800-meter heats.

In the men's 1500 meters, Mustangs claimed places two-four, as well as sixth and seventh.
Daniel Rush (3:53.05),
Davis Boggess (3:54.58) and
Anthony Ghiorso (3:56.30) finished second, third and fourth respectively, with
Zach Garey (3:57.26) and
Andrew Cross (3:58.92) placing consecutively in sixth and seventh.

Arianna Ghiorso finished second in the women's 5,000 meters in a time of 17:35.92, while
Colton Low placed second in the men's steeplechase (9:51.78).

Caleb Pouliot (men's 110-meter hurdles – 16.40 seconds) and
Jayk Kelton (men's long jump – 6.27 meters) established new school records. Pouliot also finished second in the pole vault (4.71 meters).

In throwing competitions,
Katie Boggess (women's discus – 20.17 meters) and
Josh Williamson (men's shot put – 14.19 meters) also broke program records.

Searan Kiledjian said. "Many throwers hit PRs and two school records were broken."

Master's is set to compete next at the Adams/Klein Combined Events (Thursday and Friday) and Westmont Classic (Saturday), hosted by Westmont College, as well as the UCLA Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday.
