Westmont limited TMU Baseball to just one run and six hits in Friday's Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader, defeating the Mustangs by scores of 4-1 and 3-0.
Â
Starting pitchers
Nelson Schutte (seven innings pitched, three earned runs, five strikeouts) and
Zachary Filos (six innings pitched, three runs, three strikeouts) kept Master's in each game but TMU's offense was unable to produce enough to back up the solid pitching performances.
Â
Miles Henderson knocked in the Mustangs' only run of the day on an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning of the first game, which was one of only two TMU hits in the game.
Â
TMU then mustered four hits in game two, including two from Henderson, but was unable to overcome Westmont' three first-inning runs.
Â
Master's (12-7 overall, 2-4 GSAC) will try to even the four-game series with another doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
