TMU Men's Basketball hit 12 3-pointers, including eight in the second half, helping the Mustangs pull away from San Diego Christian, 89-59, in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday night in Fullerton.

Ryan Beddeo (2-for-4) and
Jay Turley (2-for-2) all hit multiple shots from behind the arc, with the team shooting an impressive 46.2% from deep.
After taking a nine-point lead into halftime, 38-29, Master's scored 51 points in the second half, the team's most points in a half against a GSAC opponent this season.
Almost all five starters scored double-digit points, with
Gavin DeJong (18 points, eight rebounds) leading the way on an efficient 9-for-11 from the field.
Brown (16 points), Wilson (13 points) and Beddeo (12 points) joined DeJong in double figures, with
Johnny McWilliams just missing out with nine.
TMU won the turnover battle 17-5, outscoring San Diego Christian 33-4 in points off turnovers. The Mustang defense held the Hawks to under 40% shooting overall and just 26.7% (4-for-15) from 3-point range.
Seventh-seeded Master's (19-11 overall) advance to Friday's quarterfinals to take on second-seeded and host Hope International University, ranked 17th in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
The Mustangs dropped both games against the Royals in the regular season.
