Master's collected 44 kills and gave up just 28 as they swept the San Diego Christian Hawks in three straight sets 25-18, 28-26 and 25-17 in Santee, Calif., Tuesday night.
The Lady Mustangs (10-8 overall, 5-6 in GSAC) hit .286 as a team and also had 10 blocks to the Hawks one.
"It was a great team effort. Everyone contributed," said Head Coach
Annett Davis. "Tonight we were able to play all of our athletes. And each did a great job."
Ruby Duncan led Master's with nine kills and six blocks, followed by Jessi Swenning with eight kills.
Cora Machado,
Faith Tarver and
Emily Clark each had seven kills.
Most impressive was the hitting as
Emily Clark hit .600, Jessi Swenning .571 and
Cora Machado .462.
"Our opposites played a consistent match," Davis said. "Very strong hitting from
Cora Machado and
Emily Clark."
The Lady Mustangs will be back home this Saturday as they face the Westmont Warriors. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
