No. 20 TMU Women's Basketball dominated the paint and the glass on Tuesday, cruising to an 83-21 non-conference win over visiting Bethesda University inside The MacArthur Center.
Â
"We had a lot of people contribute on the glass today," Master's Head Coach
Lisa Zamroz said. "I would have liked to see us shoot the ball from 3 at a better percentage, but it was a great team win."
Â
The Mustangs outrebounded the Flames, 48-15, and outscored the visitors in the paint by a whopping 62-4 margin.
Â
After developing a 40-11 halftime lead, TMU exploded in the third quarter, scoring 35 points while limiting Bethesda to just two.
Â
Stephanie Soares led the way with her seventh-straight double-double (20 points and 10Â rebounds), while
Madeline Cooke nearly recorded a double-double herself with her 14 points and eight boards.
Â
Ella Brubaker tacked on 16 points, while
Allyson Pettit also scored in double figures with her 12 points.
Â
With the win, Master's improves to 7-0 overall on the season. The Mustangs, who are 1-0 in the Golden State Athletic Conference, return to GSAC play on Dec. 2 with a road game at Ottawa University Arizona.
