Coaching and Playing Career
Dylan Flannery is entering his 6th season as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at The Master's University, where he oversees the athletic performance program for the entire athletic department. With the assistance of qualified kinesiology student interns preparing for careers in strength and conditioning, he develops and implements performance training for all TMU athletic teams. During his tenure, he has helped develop numerous NAIA All-Americans, National Champions, GSAC Champions, and Players of the Year.
Dylan played linebacker at Adams State University, where he earned his degree in Human Physical Performance & Physical Education. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and also holds multiple certifications through NASM, including Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS).
Before joining TMU, Dylan served as Head Strength Coach for Pierce College Football (2017–2019) and worked at Proactive Sports Performance in Westlake Village, where he trained professional athletes including Aaron Rodgers, Christian Yelich, and Joakim Noah.
Although his childhood dream was to play in the NFL, injuries resulting from overtraining—and ultimately God's providence—redirected his path toward coaching. Today, Dylan views strength and conditioning as a ministry. While he is passionate about helping athletes reach their highest athletic potential, his highest priority is their spiritual growth. His desire is to disciple young men and women to love Christ above all else, pursue excellence in every area of life, and leave TMU equipped and sent as faithful ambassadors of Jesus Christ. Whether they become professional athletes, coaches, teachers, business leaders, parents, or missionaries, his prayer is that they would faithfully steward the gifts and influence God has entrusted to them, using every opportunity to glorify Christ and advance His Kingdom wherever He calls them.
Dylan and his wife, Julianna, are blessed with two daughters and one son.
