2020 (Senior): Named to the All-GSAC Team… Played in all 14 games, making 13 starts for the Mustangs… Was a key defender throughout the season helping the team record three shutouts… Threatened in the attack with 26 shots on the season… Recorded a game-winning goal vs. Mobile (Ala.)... Finished with one assist, which came in a 2-2 tie vs. OUAZ… Took a free kick that was deflected into the net against Life Pacific.
2019 (Junior): Was a
key member of a defense that recorded five shutouts…made 15 starts and played in 18 matches…scored one goal and posted career-highs with three assists and five points…her goal was the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at Arizona Christian on Oct. 26…her final assist of the season led to a Suzanne Mabie goal that proved to be the difference in a 2-1 win over Menlo on Oct. 12.
2018 (Sophomore): Second-year defender played well on the last line of defense … made 18 appearances and started six times … part of a defense that recorded 10 shutouts … scored two goals and added an assist for five points …scored her first collegiate goal and tacked on an assist vs. Mills College (CA) on Sept. 16 … her second goal of the season was the game-winner in a 2-0 victory at William Jessup University (CA) on Oct. 4.
2017 (Freshman): Played in 21 of 22 games (one start) ... talented first-year player got her feet wet at the college level on TMU's back line ... attempted six shots.
Grace Brethren HS (Simi Valley, Calif.): Three-year varsity player ... won CIF Southern Section Division 7 titles in 2015 and 2016 ... scored 15 goals with 10 assists in all ... played with TMU incoming freshman Emma Hopkins.
Royal HS (Simi Valley, Calif.): Played senior year at Royal ... team went 16-6-3 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
Personal: Full name is Payton Grace Williams ... parents are Kenneth and Pegi ... siblings are Chris, Austin and Olivia ... before arriving at TMU, Williams said she loves "working with people and making new friends. I am now giving piano lessons to children, which has always been a passion of mine" ... also said, "I want to receive a good education and play soccer in college, but what I mainly want is a place where I know I will be encouraged in God’s Word daily, and hopefully be able to encourage and grow with others as well."
