Annett Davis


  • Davis is the first women's beach volleyball head coach in Master's history.
  • At the 2000 games in Sydney, Davis and her playing partner, Jenny Johnson Jordan, became the first African Americans to make the U.S. Olympic beach volleyball team (they placed fifth).
  • Inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 2015.
  • While a Bruin, Davis was named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year (1991) and Player of the Year (1994) in indoor volleyball, helping lead her team to a national title in her first season.
  • The two-time, first-team NCAA Division 1 All-American went on to briefly play professionally indoors before transitioning to beach volleyball.
  • Davis and Johnson Jordan formed one of the most prolific and longest-lasting partnerships in pro beach volleyball history, winning titles all over the world.  
  • Davis has been married to her husband Byron, TMU's swim coach, for more than two decades, and they have a son Mya and a daughter Victoria.
