2018 (Senior): One of the club’s most dependable players during his four-year stint at the university, Brown made 18 starts in the midfield in his senior year, giving him 65 for his career … scored two goals for the second year in a row … his first came in a 3-1 loss vs. Arizona Christian on Sept. 29 and his second was the club’s fifth and final tally in a 5-2 victory over Hope International on Oct. 18 … performed in the classroom, too, and was recognized as a GSAC Scholar-Athlete and NAIA Scholar-Athlete for the second year in a row.
2017 (Junior): Proved to be one of the club’s most reliable performers again, playing consistent ball in the midfield for the third consecutive season … made starts in all of the club’s 20 matches … put up career numbers with two goals, six assists, and 10 points … had a career-best two assists in a 6-2 win over Embry-Riddle (AZ) on Sept. 2 … scored his first goal of the season vs. La Sierra two days later … his other goal was the game-winner in the 86th minute against Menlo in a first-round GSAC Tournament game on Nov. 4 …performed in the classroom, too, and was recognized as a GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
2016 (Sophomore): Taking another step toward elite status, the sophomore was a consistent, stabilizing force in the midfield, controlling tempo on both sides of play…missed five matches due to injury and made 13 starts…scored his only goal of the season in a 2-1 loss at William Jessup on Oct. 8.
2015 (Freshman): The freshman midfielder was impressive in his first season, making 14 starts while playing in all of the club’s 20 matches…scored six points on one goal and four assists…registered an assist in his first collegiate game, a 2-1 Mustang win over Carroll of Montana on Aug. 20 … he assisted on a goal in the club’s 9-0 whipping of St. Katherine on Sept. 10 … five days later, he tallied his first collegiate goal in a 5-0 win over Bethesda … assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1, double-overtime victory against Biola on Oct. 24 … assisted on the club’s only goal in a 2-1, GSAC semifinal loss to Vanguard on Nov. 12.
Gig Harbor HS (WA): A four-year performer for the Tides, he started his final three seasons at center midfield where he developed into one of the team’s primary offensive weapons…scored 10 goals in his junior year when he was named team offensive MVP and earned first-team All-Narrows League honors…upped his production a year later when he tallied a dozen times, leading the Tides to a 15-4-1 record and a repeat showing in the state 4A tournament…earned the team’s Golden Boot award, repeated all-league kudos, and added all-area accolades to cap his impressive prep resume.
Personal: Full name is Jonathan Eugene Brown ... parents are Tommy and Joan ... siblings are Tommy II, Alexandra, Jeremiah and Jerusalem ... said he chose Master's because "of the Christian-based academics along with the student body who warmly welcomed me to the college. I look forward to growing in my faith and having brothers alongside me who can help both in and out of the athletic arena."
