2019 (Freshman):  Made a seamless transition to the college game with an outstanding freshman season…hit .345, third-best mark on the squad, and led the club with 18 steals…finished third on the team with 46 runs scored and fourth with 57 hits…collected his first collegiate hit vs. Marymount California on Feb. 1…had 17 multi-hit outings, including seven three-hit performances…in a four-game series vs. Bethesda from April 4-6, he went 9-14…went a combined 9-22 in four GSAC Tournament games from April 29-May 1…scored a season-high four runs vs. Arizona Christian in a GSAC Tournament game on April 30…scored two or more runs 12 other times…slugged his first collegiate home run at Menlo on March 29…drove in a season-high three runs vs. Arizona Christian on April 17…swiped two bases in a game four times.

Berean Christian HS (Walnut Creek, CA): Batted a team-high .415 with 13 extra-base hits and 23 RBIs for the Eagles as a senior in 2018 ... also stole 42 bases on 44 attempts ... for his four-year varsity career, stole 74 bases on 76 tries and hit .362. 

Personal: Full name is William Alan Walter Batz ... parents are Dan and Christy ... siblings are Nate, Carolyn and Emily ... major is kinesiology ... said he chose Master's for "the strong biblical education and the baseball."
