TMU women's volleyball wins fifth game in a row

The Master's University volleyball team kept its win streak alive Saturday, sweeping Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-14) in GSAC play. The win pushes TMU to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in conference, good for a fifth straight victory and a fourth straight sweep.

The Mustangs came out firing in the first set, hitting .565 as a team with 15 kills against just two errors to take control early and close it out 25-14.

Embry-Riddle answered with more fight in the second set, trading points with TMU deep into the set before the Mustangs pulled away late for a 25-22 win. 

The third set was all Mustangs, as TMU closed the match on a strong run to win 25-14 and complete the sweep.

Macy Gebhards led the way offensively with 10 kills, followed by Isabella Amet with nine and McKenna Brady with six. Setter Kate Wagner orchestrated the offense with 31 assists. Defensively, Sierra Hale paced the Mustangs with 13 digs, while Isabella Amet and Kinsley Kollmann each added nine.

TMU also won the battle at the service line and the net, finishing with 11 aces to Embry-Riddle's two and outblocking the Eagles 12-4 for the match. The Mustangs out-hit ERAU .233 to -.019 as a team.

The Master's returns home Thursday to host La Sierra in GSAC action at The MacArthur Center in Santa Clarita, Calif.
