The Master's University women's soccer team kept its GSAC record spotless on Thursday, as the Lady Mustangs edged Hope International 1-0 at OC Great Park to move to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play.

The lone goal came late in the first half. In the 45th minute, senior Maddy Traylor buried her first goal of the season, the sixth of her career-high campaign. The score put the Lady Mustangs ahead for good.

The Lady Mustangs pressed for a second the rest of the way, out-shooting the Royals 15-13 and holding a commanding 10-2 edge in corner kicks. Traylor kept testing HIU goalkeeper Victoria Ruiz, firing three more shots on frame in the second half alone, including one that hit off the crossbar from Annika Hernandez. Ruiz made five saves to keep it a one-goal game.

At the other end, Katie Snow was steady in net, matching Ruiz save-for-save with five stops of her own and preserving the fourth shutout in a row despite a late push from Hope International, with shots from Emely Bravo, Alyssa Caton and Charlie Grace in the final minutes.

Hope International drew 12 fouls to TMU's six, but the Lady Mustangs played strong defense to keep them scoreless.

The result extends the Lady Mustangs' win streak to four games and keeps them perfect through their first two GSAC matchups. The Lady Mustangs look to stay unbeaten in conference play Saturday when they host Life Pacific back at Reese Field.
