4 Sandy Stangs earn All-GSAC honors

Emma Winter, Zoe Yates, Izzy Rodriguez and Ashlan Van Groningen have each been named to the all-conference team from The Master's beach volleyball team.

Head Coach Annett Davis was named the conference's 2026 Coach of the Year. It is the second time Coach Davis has been awarded by the conference for her beach volleyball coaching. She was also honored as GSAC Co-Coach of the Year for Indoor Women's Volleyball .

"These four have been the most consistent players on our team," Coach Davis said about her all-conference players. "They work so hard in practice, watching film, and in the weight room. That type of dedication pays off. I am thankful they were honored."

The 2s pair of Rodriguez and Van Groningen had a season record of 18-3 and had the second highest winning percentage (.857) among all teams in the conference.

Rodriguez is the only senior among the four.

Winter and Yates, the 1s pair for the Mustangs, went 13-8 on the season, fourth best among the conference top pair teams.

For Yates, a junior, this is the second time she has been honored by the conference as she was named the Freshman of the Year back in 2024. Last year she and her partner Faith Wada were named All-Americans.

Coach Davis, a member of the California Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame and 5th place finisher at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, is completing her seventh season coaching the Sandy Stangs.

TMU finished the regular season ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Top 10 national poll. The team is about to begin the GSAC Championship tournament followed by the NAIA Championship tournament. Both events are to be held at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
