Day 1 of Swim Nationals puts 4 relays on podiums

3/4/2026 7:31:00 PM

The opening day of the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships was a massive success for The Master's swimmers competing in the first four relays of the 4-day event held in Elkhart, Indiana.

The Men's 800 Free Relay team of Izaiah Trvino-Lozano, Evan Nail, Dylan Crane and Charley Sears took second with a time of 6:31.13. The women's team of Katherine Dyer, Clara Patterson, Megan Sutanto and Kylee Sears finished third with a time of 7:25.95.

In the Women's 200 Medley Relay, TMU's same four athletes finished third with a 1:43.89, while the men's team medley relay came in eighth at 1:30.16

"Everyone swam lights out," said TMU Head Coach Curren Bates. "Really competitive races and we almost won a national title. (The women's) 800 free would have broken the NAIA record, but Keiser beat us and broke the record in the process."

All four relays broke program records and were the highest relay finishes ever for Master's at the national championships.

Day two will get underway Thursday with mostly prelims. You can watch the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships for free by clicking HERE.
