Hannah Ulibarri placed third and Wes Opliger finished in fourth as The Master's University golf teams competed in the RMC Intercollegiate in Lake Las Vegas, Nev. with the men finishing in fifth and the women in sixth.
The competition took place across Tuesday and Wednesday as TMU had five golfers per team compete, with only four scoring.
On the women's side, Ulibarri led the charge, as she finished 15 shots over par, which was good enough to be tied for third place. She was the top NAIA golfer in the competition and finished strong, as she was just three shots over on the final round.
"It was great to see Hannah play well in that final round to secure another top five finish," said TMU Head Coach Luke Brueckner.
Ulibarri was followed by Susan Tiffner in 16th place, as she had 33-over for her three rounds and notched six birdies. Other Lady Mustang competitors included Halle Hagberg (T25th) and Reece Benjamin (37th).
For the men, it was Wes Opliger who was the top Mustang. He finished tied for fourth place and shot exactly even for the three rounds. He had a string of four birdies in a row in the second round and had five more birdies over the final round to finish in the top four.
"It was great to see Wes playing well this week and we beat some good teams on the men's side without having our best game out there, which was encouraging," Brueckner said. "We still some work to do before the home event in two weeks, but I feel like this tournament gave us some momentum."
Jacob Janho placed 14th with a mark of 6-over par. Janho had a strong first two rounds, as he was just 1-over through the first 36 holes.
Seth Bishop placed 32nd and Charles Pollock finished T39th to round out the scoring for The Master's.
TMU will compete next at the GSAC Golf Preview, which is Master's home event, at the La Purisima Golf Club in Lompoc, Calif. It will also be the site for the GSAC Championships to be played April 20-22.
"We haven't competed at La Purisima since GSAC in 2022, so we're looking forward to taking this new squad back there for our home event and GSAC," Coach Brueckner said.
