Lady Mustangs take down Golden Eagles on the road

The Master's women's soccer team scored their fifth win in a row and second in the GSAC as they defeated the La Sierra Golden Eagles 3-0 Thursday in Riverside, Calif.

The Lady Mustangs (5-2, 2-0) got goals from Maddy Traylor, Harmony Rohde and Breanna Fajardo while Autumn Jensen picked up her third shutout of the season.

"Great win on the road," said TMU Head Coach Esteban Chavez. "Anytime you have a shutout, play great from start to finish, and you score multiple goals it's a good day."

TMU was able to get 22 shots off with 16 on goal for a shots on goal percentage of 73%. That raises the team's season average up to over 47%. The defense limited La Sierra to just five shots in the match, all of which came in the second half.

After a scoreless first half, Traylor got the scoring started in the 50th minute with an unassisted goal, her team-leading eighth of the season.

Rohde scored less then nine minutes later off an assist from Traylor, with Fajardo's unassisted goal finding the back of the net with less then two minutes to play.

"Great performances from the entire team in all aspects of the game," Chavez said. "Consistent on both ends of the field, played with joy and represented our school very well."

The Master's will be on the road on Saturday when they travel to Irvine Great Park in Orange County to take on the Hope International Royals. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
