Kaleb Lowery has been named the recipient of the 2025 Trevor Hudgins Award by the National Awards Committee of Small College Basketball.

The award is presented annually to a senior playing in either NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA Division I & II, and NCCAA Division I & II. It goes to the player who has had the finest overall four-year career within Small College Basketball.

The award was announced Monday night during halftime of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship.

"It means a lot," Lowery said of hearing his name called for the award. "It's a very special achievement, not many players at this level are even given the opportunity to be nominated, so I am blessed. It means a lot not just for me, but also for everyone in my corner who has helped me become the player and young man I am today."

Lowery, a 3-time NAIA All-American and 3-time GSAC Player of the Year, was also one of eight finalists for the Bevo Francis Award which goes to the player who had the most outstanding season in small college basketball. He scored 2,325 points in his career (16.03 per game), fourth best in The Master's program history. He is also fourth all-time in career blocks (156), fifth in career rebounds (1,261) and ninth in career steals (145).

"To be named the winner of the Trevor Hudgins Award, from all of the best players within the small college arena, from a guy who was very successful at his school winning three national Division II titles in row (Trevor Hudgins), is a HUGE honor and means a lot," Lowery said. "I couldn't do anything without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ blessing me with skills and talents He has given me. I want to thank my family, Alyssa, and all my coaches for believing in me wholeheartedly, and instilling the confidence in me when I needed it most. I wouldn't want to receive this award, representing any other school, other than TMU. Forever grateful for what TMU has brought me and taught me."

Mustangs Head Coach Kelvin Starr knew from an early age that Lowery was going to be a special player and an even better human being.

"Kaleb just keeps racking up the awards," said TMU Head Coach Kelvin Starr. "What an honor to be selected for this national award. This is a reflection on what has been a storied career at TMU but more importantly it is a statement on the character and loyalty that is Kaleb Lowery."
