MESA, Ariz. -- The Master's baseball team struggled in their second game of the GSAC Baseball Championship tournament, losing to the Arizona Christian Firestorm 17-6 Tuesday.
The Mustangs fell behind 16-0 before they got their first hit, a solo home run in the seventh inning from
Tommy Gwinn.
TMU went on to score five more runs in the inning on another three home runs (
Jack Drew,
Austin Young and
Ty Beck) in their only productive offensive inning in the game.
Seven different pitchers were used by The Master's (
Gage Webster,
Carson Knapp,
Robert York,
Ethan Schmidt,
Luke Scott,
Casey LaCroix,
Lucas DeSpain), with every run earned on 15 base hits.
The Master's will now play No. 1-seed Hope international, a team they beat 8-3 on Monday, in an elimination game Tuesday. The winner will go to the championship game Wednesday at noon, while the loser will go home.
