TMU improves to 20-3 with win over Eagles

The Lady Mustang volleyball team notched their 20th win of the season (25-15, 25-17, 25-19) by defeating Embry-Riddle in three sets Friday in Prescott, Ariz.

TMU held ERAU to just a  -.026 hitting percentage as Isabella Amet had 10 kills to lead the way.

The Master's jumped on the Eagles early, forcing multiple errors to take the first set by a 10-point margin, 25-15. The second set was not much different as TMU used runs of 5-0 and 8-1 to take full control with Amet having four kills the second period.

"They came out really aggressive and played really fired up today," TMU Head Coach McKenna Hafner said. "I'm proud of the way they executed today."

Kinsley Kollmann had seven kills and six digs, while Kate Wagner had 23 assists.

The Lady Mustangs faced a bit of pressure from the Eagles in the final set, with Embry-Riddle taking a 11-9 lead but TMU continued to put the Eagles in bad situations and forced several mistakes including 25 attack errors and five service errors. A service ace from Piper Susank slammed the door on a potential ERAU comeback and gave TMU the 3-set win.

The Lady Mustangs face a quick turnaround with a game against OUAZ Saturday afternoon, with whom they are tied at the top of the GSAC standings. The winner will take the No. 1 seed in the GSAC tournament and will receive home-court advantage throughout the GSAC tournament. The game is set for 12 p.m. PT in Surprise, Ariz.
