The Lady Mustangs went on the road and tied SOKA University of America 0-0 Saturday in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
TMU's defense was on point, holding the No. 2-ranked GSAC team scoreless and limiting them to four total shots and zero first half shots.Â
"We tried something new defensively and the girls executed it very well," TMU Head Coach Esteban Chavez said. "It was a good bounce back game from last week."
TMU is trailing SOKA by just one point in the overall standings and shut down one of the GSAC's top offenses.
Autumn Jensen notched one save and the defense only allowed one shot on goal.
TMU outshot SOKA 12-4, with four shots on goal. Despite barely subbing the whole game, the Lady Mustangs also had more corner kicks, keeping the pressure on the SOKA defense.
Maddy Traylor had four total shots and two on goal.
Kegan Brunnemann had one shot on goal and
Breanna Fajardo had two shots and one on goal.Â
"We played a lot of the game in their half of the field," Coach Chavez said. "The girls are in great spirits and we got a lot out of this game."
The Lady Mustangs will return home to play La Sierra on Tuesday in Santa Clarita, Calif.
