Box Score The Lady Mustangs volleyball team swept the Life Pacific Warriors (25-10, 25-12, 25-20) Wednesday in The MacArthur Center.
It was a battle of the third-place teams in the GSAC standings and the Mustangs came out on top, after losing in straight sets to the Warriors just last week. TMU dominated in almost every statistical category including kills, aces, blocks, assists, and digs, while committing 12 fewer errors than LPU.Â
TMU got out to a fast start, using a 14-1 run to seize control of the first set. TMU hit an absurd .394 for the first set while holding Life Pacific to just -.103. A kill from
Macy Gebhards sealed the opening set masterclass from the 13th-ranked Lady Mustangs.Â
"It's only been a week since we lost to them," TMU Head Coach

The Mustangs continued to apply pressure in the second set, somehow improving their hitting percentage to .438. TMU rattled off seven straight points, starting at the 9-7 mark and finished the frame strong with five consecutive points, closed out by a
Krista Brady and
Kate Wagner block.
LPU put up a much stronger fight in the third frame, attempting to force the much-needed fourth set. TMU continued to pour it on offensively, forcing multiple errors and leading 7-1. But Life Pacific didn't fade, and rallied to come withing one point at 13-12. But TMU slammed the door with back-to-back kills from Gebhards and
McKenna Brady notched the game-winning kill from
Kate Wagner.
The Lady Mustangs (15-3, 8-2) were led by Gebhards with 13 kills and Wagner had 35 assists.
TMU will play next on the road against Hope International University Saturday in Fullerton, Calif.
