GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The third match in three days saw The Master's men's volleyball team sweep the Arizona Christian Firestorm 25-11, 25-17, 25-18 Saturday afternoon in Glendale, Ariz.
The three wins make it six in a row for the No. 2-ranked Mustangs (15-2, 4-1) since losing to Vanguard in five sets. In those six matches, TMU has only lost two sets.
"It was great to finish the road trip strong with a win," TMU Head Coach
Jared Goldberg said. "We got to get some more guys on the court today and some really were able to step up and play well."
One of those players was Pepperdine mid-season transfer
Jake Olson, who collected eight kills and hit .636, both his career best with the Mustangs.
As a team The Master's hit .410 with 44 kills against only 10 hitting errors. The team also finished with six aces and three blocks.
Mason Mullins finished with a game-high 17 kills, with
Cole Oliver adding nine.
Patrick Paragas finished with 22 assists in the first two sets, with
Matthew Hamm getting 14 in the third.
Next up is a re-match with No. 1 Vanguard on Friday. The game, which is Friday starting at 6 p.m., will be watched by the nation is it will pit the top two teams in the country in what might be a preview of the national championship match in early May.
