Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Dave Caldwell, Sports Information Director

TMU suffers tough road loss to Eagles

The Master's women's soccer team gave up four unanswered goals to lose a road game to the Embry-Riddle Eagles 4-1 Wednesday in Prescott, Ariz.

ERAU scored their first goal 12:02 into the game, then scored three more in the early part of the second half before the Mustangs (8-3, 5-2) scored their lone goal in the 75th minute.

The loss drops TMU down to third in the GSAC standings behind first place Hope International and Embry-Riddle.

Even though it's a notch in the loss column, TMU Head Coach Esteban Chavez still found quite a bit to be proud of.

"We played the best half of soccer in the entire season today," Coasch Chevez said about the first half. "We have struggled with our press and did a great job in the first half. Our possession was good and we were dangerous going forward. We took some strides forward even though the score may say otherwise. ERAU took advantage of their scoring opportunities so credit to them. They're a very good team."

Harmony Rohde scored the goal for The Master's. It was the sixth goal of the season for the sophomore, tying her for the team lead with Breanna Fajardo.

The Eagles out-shot the Mustangs 18-11, with ERAU getting 11 shots on goal and TMU getting nine. The difference was in the second half as the ratcheted Eagles pressure gave the home squad a 13-3 advantage in shots.

Grace LaCroix started in goal for TMU and finished with eight saves.

"Grace LaCroix, who's a field player,in  has been stepping as our goalkeeper and had a very good game today with three key saves," Chavez said. "She did great with anticipating by coming out early and did well with her distribution."

The Master's will take on Life Pacific this Saturday in a game to be played at Citrus College in Glendora, Calif. Game tine is 11 a.m.
