After winning the first three matches of the season, The Master's women's volleyball team suffered it's first defeat, losing to Aquinas (MI) 3-0 Friday in the final match of the La Sierra Tournament in Riverside, Calif.
The Lady Mustangs (3-1) struggled to find their offense, getting a season-low 28 kills and a hitting percentage of .120. TMU could only muster two blocks while getting blocked seven times, and after averaging nearly 11 aces in the first three matches, could only get two against the Saints.
For the third time in four matches,
Ruby Duncan led the team with 10 kills followed by
Faith Tarver's eight.
Timberlie Miller dished 21 assists while Duncan and Sierra Miller each collected nine digs.
The Master's will hit the road again on Monday when they travel to Azusa Pacific for a series of scrimmages. Then on Friday and Saturday, TMU will travel to Fullerton, Calif. for the Hope Summer Slam and four more matches.
The Lady Mustangs will have their home opener in The MacArthur Center on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. against Cal Lutheran.
