The Master's men's volleyball team got their second conference win of the season, this time on the road as they defeated the Arizona Christian Firestorm in three sets Friday night in Glendale, Arizona.
The Mustangs (7-2, 2-1 GSAC) dropped in this week's NAIA Top 15 poll from No. 1 down to No. 4. But since losing to new No. 1 Vanguard a week ago, TMU has won the last two they have played.
Despite the three-set sweep, the match was closer than that would indicate. The Mustangs won the sets 25-22, 26-24, 31-29. TMU hit .302, twice what the Firestorm hit (.154), with 44 kills versus 41 and five blocks compared to four.
Isaac Seltzer lead The Master's with 12 kills, hitting .320 for the match.
Brett Norkus added 10 kills with
Will Avera converting nine of his 13 attacks for kills against no errors for a .692 hitting percentage. Seltzer and Norkus led the team with three blocks each.
The Master's will be back in action again on Saturday as they take on No. 6 OUAZ in another GSAC match, this time in Surprise, Ariz. First serve is scheduled for noon PT.
